PVC Roofing in Wausau, WI
PVC is a heat-welded single-ply membrane, like TPO, but formulated to resist grease, animal fats, oils and many chemicals. That matters on a restaurant, where kitchen exhaust fans throw grease onto the roof, and on food-processing and dairy plants, which central Wisconsin has plenty of. Grease softens and swells EPDM and many TPO membranes until they split around the fans. PVC costs more per square foot, so we usually recommend it where the roof needs it, sometimes as a PVC section around the exhaust area rather than the whole roof. We install new PVC roofs and repair existing ones with welded PVC patches and flashings.

Leaking right now? Protect the inside first
Move inventory, files and electronics away from the drip, shut off power to any light fixture or panel that is getting wet, and put down buckets or plastic. Keep people out from under a ceiling that is sagging with water above it. Don't send staff onto the roof during a storm, in the dark, or when it is icy or snow-covered. Low-slope roofs have skylights, open edges and slick membranes. Then request service: an active leak can usually be dried in temporarily until a permanent repair is possible.

The building, the roof type if you know it, and what is happening: an active leak, a stain, ponding water, storm damage, or a roof that is just getting old. Active leaks go to the front of the line.

Kitchen exhaust carries grease that settles on the roof around the fans. Grease attacks many roofing membranes, softening and splitting them. PVC resists it, and grease containment at the fan keeps most of it off the roof in the first place.
Not always. A grease-resistant section around the exhaust area, tied into the rest of the roof with compatible details, can be the better value. It depends on how much of the roof is exposed.
Yes, typically about $7–$14 per square foot installed against $6–$12 for TPO. See TPO vs. EPDM vs. PVC.
